What an adventure this week turned out to be! Momma and Daddy started the week out by reminding Sierra, Dakota and I that Halloween was coming this weekend. But it seemed that Mother Nature decided to provide us an early Trick! If you peek out the window behind Daddy you will see why we decided to do our pumpkin carving inside this year.
But we didn't let snow stop us from enjoying our pumpkin carving activities.
I'm sure you all won't be surprised to know that it was Dakota who seemed to enjoy it the most... Why did she enjoy it you ask? Because pumpkin is yummy of course!
So we thought the snow was the only Trick that Mother Nature was going to play on us... but that was not the case. She also decided to knock enough trees and tree limbs down to cause us to lose our electricity. So break out the campfire and candles!
Dakota was drawn to the warmth of the fire like a moth to a flame. Fortunately Daddy and I held her back!
Fortunately the power was only off for a night, and we were able to spend Sunday with Gigi and PopPop at their house with their electricity to celebrate my birthday.
Then came Halloween! Thanks to the electric company and the great parks and recreation guys in Pennington, our Halloween wasn't postponed. After a month of double checking the catalog I settled on a Superman costume.
Dakota had a lot of choices.... We helped her pick!
The bunny won the popular vote!
Sierra loved her batgirl costume! An hour after Momma started we were all dressed and ready for the big event! We went around our neighborhood. For the first time ever, I knocked on the doors, said Trick or Treat and Thank You. Momma and Daddy were so proud of me. Sierra did a great job with her Trick or Treats and Thank You's too.
Dakota of course was given an exception...
But that didn't' stop her from getting into the spirit of the night!
After all that trick or treating we spend some time checking out Daddy's handiwork. He really did a great job with our designs!
Don't you think!
Then it was time for the little ones to head to bed.
Sierra blew out her pumpkin candle
with a little help from Superman!
Then we dumped our candy into the candy drawer and slept with visions of lollipops dancing in our heads!
