Indoor Fun for Sierra's 4th Week

The weather has been pretty cold this week so Momma and Daddy suggested that Sierra and I come up with some fun INDOOR activities to keep us entertained.  We thought long and hard.  See below to find out what we came up with...
Tazz and I decided to play an old favorite, tug!  Its taken a while, but she finally trusts me to play the game properly with her.  I even manage to win sometimes.  Tazz is such a great big sister.

Next I thought I would teach Sierra about balls.  You all know how important good ball skills are in our family.  Tazz agrees that you can never learn about balls too early.  I was very proud of my little sister.  She picked up good ball handling skills really quickly.
Momma also wanted to have a bit of indoor fun.  And as you all know Momma, I bet you can guess what her idea of fun is... PICTURES.  Momma took us to a photo session for Sierra's new born pictures last Monday and was anxious to try out some of the techniques she saw the professional photographer use.  See below and let her know what you think.

Sierra's Third Week

So, this week Sierra continued to meet the rest of her family. First, Great Aunt Janet and Mary Ann came for a fun Thursday visit. They were both a little scared too hold someone so little, but I think they did great! Wouldn't you agree?

Then, over the weekend, Pop-Pop and Gigi came for the afternoon and a wonderful dinner. I think they're pretty taken with my little sis...

Of course, it wasn't all about meeting new relatives. Tazz and I spent some time getting to know her better as well. We're still trying to figure out what all she can do besides eat and sleep

Later, she showed us exactly what she's capable of. After a few demonstrations from yours truly, Sierra rolled over from her stomach to her back - did I mention she's only 3 weeks old?! Here's an action shot of the big event

I'm getting much more comfortable with being around Sierra too. I even let Daddy take this picture of Momma and her two wonderful kids. (And don't worry - Daddy is in the pic in spirit - where do you think I learned this pose from?)

Be sure to check back next week for all new adventures in the continuing saga of Connor, Sierra, and Tazz!

Settling In

The week of January 11th marks Sierra's second week of life and her first week with the family.  Needless to say this week has been all about us making adjustments.  But don't worry, there has been a lot of fun too!

I thought it would be important to introduce Sierra to the basement and some of the toys I used to play with when I was her age.  So we pulled out the activity mat and I showed her how to use it.

The basement wasn't the only fun though.  We also took Sierra out on her first dog walk.  Sierra was snuggled up into her winter bunting and I pulled on my cool orange snow coat and boots.  We took the double stroller out for its maiden voyage.  Needless to say, I pushed and did not ride!  Isn't it cool that the stroller's handle bar adjusts to work for my height?

Daddy and I also worked on a new skill this week.  Walking on the moon, otherwise known as our ceiling.  I had so much fun being the rocket ship!

Last but not least, we gave Sierra her first bath at home.  Though they aren't my favorite things personally, Momma tells me that Sierra liked her first bath much more than I did.  What do you think?

I hope you all are keeping snug and warm during these winter days.  Stay tuned for my new adventures with Sierra.  There is just so much to share!

Sierra Meets the Family

Everyone has been so excited to meet Sierra.  Grandma earned the privilege of meeting her first since she spent the week with Daddy and me while Momma recovered at the hospital.

Nanny and Grampy weren't far behind though in meeting Sierra.  They came over to meet her the Friday that Momma and Sierra came home.  And would you believe they brought me a great surprise?  They brought Great Gramma and Great Grampa too.  They all were really taken with Sierra.

Everyone stayed through Saturday to visit, and then Nanny did a quick stop on Sunday following Sierra's first post hospital doctor's appointment.  I was pretty excited to learn that the doctor's visit wasn't for me.  We have a new pediatrician.  I think I'm going to like him much better than our old doctor.  Lucky for me Sierra gets to try him out first!

Happy Birthday Sierra Chase Foy

On January 4th at 8:38am Momma popped out my new little sister Sierra Chase Foy.  She weighed 7pds 1oz and measured 21 inches in length.

Momma came through the delivery just fine.  But given the state rules in NJ, I had to meet my sister via pictures.  She sure is cute!

Momma spent a week at the hospital recovering from the surgery.  I was so excited to see her and to meet Sierra when they came home on Friday January 8th.

Now comes the adjustment period.  I can't wait to learn all about being the best big brother ever!

December Snows and my Snowman

Though our first snow of the season arrived before December, this storm was the first one with real accumulation.  And we know that with the snow comes snow chores.  I of course jumped right in to help Daddy with the shoveling.  Thanks to our neighbor and his snow blower the driveway was cleared in no time.

So of course that meant I could bring up the trash can.  Over the last year my passion for trash and recycling has not waned.

After taking care of the chores Momma and I took a break.  I thought it was pretty cool that I could sit in the snow and not get wet.  My snow pants are pretty cool!

After chores it was time for fun.  Daddy taught me how to build a snowman.  How do you think we did?

Even Tazz enjoyed the snow!

I hope you had as much fun with the snow as Tazz and I did.

Camden Aquarium - Dec '09

During Christmas break Momma thought it would be a good idea if we had one last adventure before my baby sister pops out of her belly.  So on Sunday morning we jumped into Daddy's truck so that we could make it to the aquarium in time for its opening.  I was impressed by the very first exhibit.

I really liked seeing the fish swim back and forth.  Can you find the long skinny fish swimming in the picture?

After a little bit of encouragement I even liked petting the star fish.  They sure felt funny!

We also discovered that the aquarium had hippos.  They came out for a snack and swim while we were visiting.

It was a great fun adventure!

Christmas 2009

I woke up on Christmas morning and couldn't believe my eyes.  Santa came to our home and brought all sorts of presents for Tazz and I.

I couldn't help but dive in and start playing with them.

Tazz felt the same way.  Can you believe how good she is at opening her own presents?

I was so lucky to get to share the day with Grandma, Aunt Janet, Nanny, Grampy, Great Gramma, Great Grampa, PopPop, GiGi and even Uncle Sean, Aunt Jo and Cousin Devon (via the internet).

I hope you all were able to spend your holidays with the ones you loved!
